On almost every discovery call, potentiel clients tell me that they absolutely want SEO because they’re not getting leads from their website.

While visibility and conversion are two different things, if people are clicking your Instagram link in bio and then nada, the problem is your website – not SEO.

Your website copy is vague

Incoming marketing cliché: if you’re speaking to everyone, you’re speaking to no one. Your ideal client needs to feel like you are speaking directly to them. Your pretty website is worth nothing if the words mean nothing. Stop trying to look like a billboard and start wooing them with their love language.3

No buyer journey

A client lands on your site, now what? Remember, a pretty website alone won’t cut it. It’s up to you to set the stage with all the right elements (branding, copy and design) that guide your visitor seamlessly through your content. Anticipate what they want to know next, go get those emotions you want them to feel, and you better have the next CTA button ready.

Weak CTA

There’s no opportunity to take action or worse, you’re not simplifying the process for them to take action WITH THE INTENTION of working with you. This is a pitfall where most businesses stumble. They plaster all the info a visitor needs to know about the business, yet they fail to spark that initial REAL connection—a connection that goes beyond the dreadfully mundane ‘Contact form’. Instead of ‘Get in in Touch’, give them the link to a discovery call or application form – something that actually gets them into phase one of your sales process.

Your website’s success lies in speaking directly to your ideal client with clear, engaging copy and intuitive design. Don’t settle for vague messaging that appeals to everyone but resonates with no one. Ensure your site guides visitors through a defined buyer journey, anticipating their needs with compelling branding and seamless navigation. Toss the generic contact forms; simplify the process with specific calls to action like discovery calls or application forms that initiate your sales process. This approach not only enhances user experience but also fosters meaningful connections, turning visitors into clients who feel understood and valued.
