About this project
When I redesigned Alex Shields’ website, my goal was to fully highlight her identity as a sustainable interior designer while making her approach accessible to everyone. Her previous site, while functional, didn’t clearly communicate her mission or fully showcase the sustainability and health-focused aspects of her work. The messaging wasn’t specific enough to educate visitors or help them understand what sets her apart. Alex’s expertise, passion, and thoughtful approach are truly remarkable, and I knew the site needed to showcase her amazing work and unique perspective.
I focused on positioning Alex as both an expert and an educator by highlighting the elements that make her designs eco-conscious, healthy, and thoughtful. From sourcing sustainable materials to reducing environmental impact, the site showcases her knowledge, her unique partnerships, and the ways she brings these principles into every project. I also highlighted her mentorship offerings to show her dedication to sharing her expertise.
On the services page, I clearly outlined what she offers and her process, weaving in explanations about sustainability and health to inform and inspire those who may be less familiar with eco-conscious design. The portfolio was organized for easy navigation, with each project detailing how sustainable materials and practices were incorporated, demonstrating her approach in action. Overall, I positioned the site to educate, inspire, and attract a wide range of clients, from those new to sustainable design to those actively seeking it, while making it clear that sustainability and health are central to Alex Shield Designs.
